Sugar Blues

Sugar Blues
You hear vague cautions against refined white sugar, but as most of it is aimed toward weight loss enthusiasts, it's either discarded as healthnik crap or ignored by those who consider themselves fit and healthy. This book lays it out plainly: sugar is a poison in the same way that cigarettes and alcohol are, only without the cautions and campaigns to inform consumers what it's doing to their bodies. The author first heard that "sugar is poison" from silent film actress and star of Sunset Boulevard, Gloria Swanson, who banned it from her table and her life relentlessly. In his research, the author took an impassioned idea and codified it for the rest of us. You'll be amazed not only at the REAL effects of refined sugar, but possibly chilled by the propaganda and misinformation efforts of the international sugar lobby. And we feed this stuff to our children? Not normally my thing, but this one gets handed out hither and yon to anyone even remotely receptive to it.
